My students are always asking me to teach them various songs. However, few songs have eclipsed the plethora of requests for me to teach them how to play the Mandalorian theme song on guitar.
On a side note, I personally enjoyed watching the show. As a musician and Star Wars viewer, it was clear to me that when the composers set out to write the score, they tried to combine two elements: the saga of the lone wolf and the grandeur of the Star Wars universe.
They succeeded.
Although the main character isn’t always alone and ends up making a few good friends along the way, he provides an element of competence and self-reliance that is palpable throughout the main theme.
In this video, I teach the student how to play the main theme of The Mandalorian score in standard tuning on the guitar. To be clear, we do not learn the ending, only the most melodic parts that can be found towards the beginning of the song.
